Welcome to The Central Ohio Miniature Bridge Building Competition
Our goal with the COhMBBC is to provide our local students an opportunity to learn while also providing access to practicing engineers and engineering faculty and students. This type of learning experience carries great value that cannot be measured. To successfully foster the future of our industry, we are asking for your help. We respectfully request your consideration to help sponsor this event through monetary support. Eliminating fiscal burdens on schools and participants of all socioeconomic status is crucial to providing a fair competition to all future engineers. Therefore, we are attempting to provide all materials necessary. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated as they contribute to the purchase of all bridge building supplies, loading apparatus and participant prizes, as well as T-shirts and food and drinks for participating students and judges. Your donation will give your company positive exposure and you will also be influencing the future of our students and our community. Our children are the future and deserve every advantage possible to grow into successful adults.

UPDATE!
Due to the high cost of shipping, we are requesting that schools pick up their practice material at our office (970 Dublin Rd., Columbus). See the QR code for directions to our back gate. Please text Ed Herrick (614-747-0415) ahead of picking up material Monday-Fridays from 7:00am-4:00pm. If this is not possible for you, please let him know and we can try to make other arrangements.
Event Announcements
Location:
Franklin County Engineer West Maintenance Facility (4444 Fisher Rd, Columbus, OH 43228)
Announcements:
• Teams can arrive as early as 8am. (If an earlier time is desired, please email Ed Herrick at [email protected]). Email Ed Herrick by January 26 to confirm what time your team is scheduled to arrive.
• Teams will be assigned a table and given 3 hrs to build their bridges once registered.
• Pizza and a drink will be served at noon. Please let us know if you have a request for gluten free. No other dietary restrictions will be able to be accommodated.
• Bridge loading will begin immediately after judging. We will attempt to load teams' bridges within a 1/2 hour of finishing them. Logistically, you should allow for an hour in case we have a lot of teams that finish at the same time.
Reminders:
• Per the specifications, teams are not permitted to paint or color their structures.
• Material is our biggest expense, so it would be greatly appreciated if unused materials could be returned after the competition.
